ROMS and climate change adaptation ROMS will be used by CSIRO Climate Adaptation Flagship (CAF) and Brookfield Multiplex to identify, assess and control the climate change risk and opportunities posed to the built environment and infrastructure and corresponding adaptations in relation to planning and design. The research will be associated with the newly established Built Environment Network which is a component of the UNSW National Climate Change Adaptation Research (NCCARF) Facilitys Settlement and Infrastructure Network which will be coordinated through City Futures Research Centre at FBE. |

18 November 2008 - Climate Change Research Receives Grant to use ROMS Professor Martin Loosemore and a team of leading climate change researchers from The University of New South Wales and Australian National University have received a $900,000 Federal Government Australian Research Council grant which uses ROMS to assess the adaptive capacity of hospital facilities to cope with climate-related extreme weather events working in partnership with Australian and NZ Health Authorities. Another research project using ROMS is currently being developed with leading epidemiologists to infrastructure responses to pandemic risks. |
